Pisgah High School senior Caitlin Worley put her skills to work: As an Advanced Studies CTE (Career Technical Education) student, she was expected to create and produce a capstone project that would showcase what she had learned in Ms. Adriane Howard’s Apparel Development program. Caitlin loves making quilts, so when the Pisgah Counseling Center approached her about making a college t-shirt quilt, she enthusiastically agreed. College admission offices donated t-shirts: Caitlin researched t-shirt quilts, designed her plan, and obtained all other needed materials. Caitlin presented the quilt to the Counseling Center just in time for College Application week. Caitlin’s quilt is now a center piece of the Counseling Center. Advanced Studies opportunities are available to High School seniors who have completed all other courses within a specific CTE program.
