2014/15 Registration Information

IT’S ALMOST TIME TO REGISTER FOR

2014-15 CLASSES!!

NC transitioned all public schools in NC to a data management system called PowerSchool.  Within PowerSchool, there is a master schedule builder called PowerScheduler.  We will be using this program to build our schedule for the upcoming school year.  Therefore, the whole process is changing, and will be very different from what you remember.

In the next couple weeks, students will receive a listing of courses available to them by grade level, and a copy of their 4-year plan so that they can be reminded of what they need to take next year (core and elective) and to begin choosing additional electives they would be interested in taking.

During the week of March 10^th, students will be called to a computer lab by homeroom to make course requests.  Requests for classes are not done by alphabet or GPA, so it does not matter when a specific homeroom is called; that does not mean that the first group called will get first priority.  All student requests will be submitted simultaneously per grade level.

There will be numerous people there to assist students as they go into PowerScheduler to request 4 electives and 4 alternates.  A schedule will not exist at this time, so students will not be choosing periods or semesters.  When done, students will receive a printout that shows the core classes they will be registered for per grade level, as well as the electives and alternates they requested.  Before leaving the media center, counselors will review each printout of student requests to make sure that all students have courses needed for graduation.  Students will be notified of their final schedule as soon as possible!
