PHS Counseling Center utilizes Waynesville Kiwanis Grant

The Counseling Center of Pisgah High School wishes to express sincere gratitude to the Kiwanis Club of Waynesville for a $2000 grant.  The grant application stipulates that all monies must be for projects that provide a long term benefit directly to the students.  The counselors were able to purchase seven Chromebooks that students are already using for online college applications, online employments applications, online registration for ACT and SAT testing, scholarship searches and completing online college athletic eligibility registration.  Many students do not have access to computers at home, others have no internet or unreliable internet access. Some students like to look at online applications at school with a counselor before tackling them on their own.  The Kiwanis grant has made all of these online resources more accessible to ALL students, and the counselors feel that students already feel more at ease asking for assistance with online applications.  Thanks so much to the Kiwanis Club of Waynesville for their generous gift to Pisgah High School Counseling Center!
