PHS Learning Launch Days

Next week is the first week of school, and although it may look different we are excited to have the Pisgah Bears back. We are going to start the year with Learning Launch Days.  Everyone is REQUIRED to participate in Learning Launch in-person or remotely.  Each student should attend on their designated day or the digital day.  There will not be Google Meetings for students throughout the Learning Launch week. Students’ responsibility for the week is to attend on their ONE Learning Launch day or the digital day on Friday. Students must bring their personal laptop or their student assigned Chromebook to their Launch Day.  If students were unable to pick up their chromebook this week they may arrive as early as 7:45 AM on their Launch Day to pick one up.

• Last name begins with G-L: Tuesday, August 18th

• Last name begins with M-R: Wednesday, August 19th

• Last name begins with S-Z: Thursday, August 20th

• Digital Launch Day: Friday, August 21st (All students who were unable to attend previous days and/or are choosing to learn digitally at the time.)

During the Learning Launch, students will meet their teachers. Teachers will take this time to communicate when they will have their Google Meets each day and their learning expectations for remote learning. Students will be provided free breakfast and lunch on their Learning Launch day. Breakfast will be served via carts in C Building and in the Courtyard. Lunch will be served in the cafeteria.

Students’ and Staffs’ safety is of the utmost importance. In order to keep everyone safe, we are requiring EVERYONE to wear a mask while on campus, excluding only when you are eating breakfast and/or lunch. Also, we have set up one-way directional hallways. Please see the attached map and adhere to the arrows while moving throughout the campus. Once you arrive on campus your options are to report to your 1st block classroom, the cafeteria, or the lobby.  The courtyard will be closed except for breakfast pickup.

Attached is the Learning Launch Schedule.  If you are participating in the Digital Launch Day on Friday you will follow the same schedule of 8:15 AM – 12 PM.  You will receive emails from your teachers on how to log-in and participate in your Learning Launch digitally.
